Dr Tom Buchanan
Internet Research
Over the past decade or so, it has become recognised that the Internet offers great possibilities as a medium for psychological research; for applied areas of psychology (such as clinical or workplace applications); and as a sphere of human interaction which is of interest to psychologists in its own right.
This page provides links to some data-collection enterprises in which I am currently involved. If you wish to participate in any of these studies, my collaborators and I would be very grateful for your help. It also provides links to some resources I have found useful and interesting. Please note though that this is in no way a comprehensive list!

I am based in the Department of Psychology at the University of Westminster in London, England. My teaching and research interests lie mainly in the areas of ‘cyberpsychology’ (though I don’t like that term), personality, and social psychology. I have specific interests in Internet-mediated research, personality assessment, self disclosure on the Internet, and the psychology of 'online behaviour' in general. There is more information, and a list of publications, on my ‘official’ web page at Westminster.
